Concrete Park is a gripping new sci-fi graphic novel written and drawn by screenwriter Tony Puryear (Eraser). It is published by Dark Horse Comics, beginning with a seven-issue run in Dark Horse Presents. It will return in a 5-issue mini-series, Concrete Park Volume 2: R-E-S-P-E-C-T, which will be in stores starting Sept. 3rd, 2014 and in a hardcover collection, Concrete Park Volume 1: You Send Me, which will be in stores Oct. 14, 2014.
Concrete Park features urban action and other-worldly mystery on a planet with two suns and in a violent place called Scare City.
- The Story When an overcrowded near-future Earth runs out of water and other resources, it transports its underclass youth to a distant desert planet to mine for ice. These young exiles are never going home, and here in the harshest of circumstances, they must make a new world. Will they reproduce the violence and tribalism they left behind, or will they make something beautiful.
- The Creators Concrete Park was created by Tony Puryear, Erika Alexander and Robert Alexander. The book is co-written, drawn and colored by Tony Puryear and co-written by Erika Alexander. Tony has written screenplays for a who’s who of Hollywood’s A-List, including Oliver Stone, Mel Gibson, Jerry Bruckheimer and Will Smith. He is best known for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s blockbuster Eraser. Erika Alexander is the two-time winner of the NAACP Image Award for her starring role as “Max” in the long-running hit Fox series Living Single. Her most recent film is the award-winning independent feature La Mission with Benjamin Bratt. Erika’s brother Robert Alexander is a science-fiction writer and artist from Venice, CA.
